Category: The Losers

In every trade, there are winners and losers. This section of our site presents an overview of the current market losers in percentages. On the “most active stocks” section, we provide information about losing stocks for the closed market day. This should help both active and potential traders, as well as other interested parties have an idea on the value of their losing stock, and how wide (or narrow) the losing margins are.

The tables have a pie chart representation, as well as summary bar chart for most advanced and declined stocks each market day. There is a NASDAQ composite figure; new highs and new lows which presents the market performance at a glance. The total figures for advanced, declined and unchanged stocks and shares are captured clearly on the web page.

The summary of advanced and declined stocks are represented on a bar chart which depicts the positive value stocks (winners) in green and above the 0% line, while the losers are red bar charts set in an inverted position below the 0% line. The losing stocks are an indication of a drop in the number trades (hence value) for the last traded period. It is not immediately an indication of a trend; however, continued losses are a red flag for investors to consider.

Below the “advanced and declined stocks” bar chart, are 4 tabs. The “Most Active by Share Volume tab”, the “Most Advanced Companies” tab, “Most Declined Companies” and “Most Active by Dollar Volume” tab.

The “Most Active by Share Volume tab” is a table that presents an overall performance of key companies on the NASDAQ stock exchange. This table lists NASDAQ’s most Active companies by share volume. It also contains their stock market symbol on the left, the full name of the company, their logo, last sale, net percentage change in traded volume and the total share volume.

The “Most Declined Companies” or losers’ tab shows the same figures. Each losing company’s net change is depicted in red, with the companies arranged in descending order of net change; the worst performing companies at the top, while the least are at the bottom. It is important to note that these figures are only for the last trading period, and as captured on the closing day. It is subject to change after the next trading day.

We present real-time news on stock market performances so that traders can make informed decisions ahead of their next trade. For analysis and expert reports on losing securities, turn to our professional analysis section.
Stock market losses are often an indication that traders are selling a particular stock more than it is being bought. It could be due to a government policy, an economic situation or mere uncertainty. Sometimes, a stock may recover and bounce back on the chart, other times it may simply fall flat and go downhill.

The losers’ chart is just as important as the winners’ chart. By monitoring the losers chart, NASDAQ stock traders can stay ahead of their trade and avoid losing significant amounts of money. Our NASDAQ page is simplified and easy to understand by both beginners and experts. Click the “Most Active Stocks” section for more detail.
